1. Overview & Our Core Privacy Commitment
SpinDecide ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to eliminating indecision without exploiting your personal data. We believe your entertainment and dining choices belong to you. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties or advertising networks.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Approximate & Precise Location: When you use the Food, Drinks, Sports, or Date Night wheels, we request permission to access your device’s location to find nearby restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. Location data is processed ephemerally in-session and is never stored, sold, or shared for ad tracking.
B. Camera & Photo Library: When using the Menu Scanner feature, we request camera or photo library access to capture paper restaurant menus. The image is processed in real time via our secure OCR and menu parsing pipeline to extract entrée names and prices onto your wheel. Images are not retained on our servers after extraction is complete.
C. Optional Account Information: You can use SpinDecide 100% as a guest with zero sign-up. If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address, hashed password, and authentication provider ID strictly to sync your saved decision history across your devices.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To deliver real-time venue and entertainment data, SpinDecide communicates securely with vetted third-party APIs:
- Google Places API: Queries nearby restaurants, sports venues, and entertainment landmarks.
- The Movie Database (TMDB): Queries live theatrical and streaming titles, ratings, and watch provider links.
- Secure Cloud Infrastructure: Our servers run encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections for OCR and nutrition assistance.
🛡️ 4. Mandatory In-App Account & Data Deletion (Apple Guideline 5.1.1)
In strict compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1, you have full control over your data:
- In-App Deletion: Tap the Settings gear (⚙️) on any screen $ ightarrow$ tap "Delete Account & Data". Your account, credentials, and synchronized history will be permanently and immediately expunged from our database.
- Guest Clear Cache: Guest users can tap "Clear Local History & Cache" to erase all locally cached spins and selections.
- Direct Request: You may also email support@decisionapps.store with subject "Data Deletion Request" and we will purge all records within 48 hours.
5. Data Security & Retention
All network communication is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL. Passwords are salted and hashed using bcrypt. If you do not delete your account, we retain your account information only as long as your account remains active.
6. Children's Privacy
SpinDecide is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
